There is no doubt that Wireless Location and Communications are two of the most important technologies for Mobility 4.0\, both playing fundamental roles in a wide range of applications. Mobility 4.0 combines areas of interest such as the Internet of Things (IoT)\, Cyber Physical Systems (CPS)\, Connected-Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) and others\, taking advantage of technologies ranging from heterogeneous sensor signal processing\, data fusion\, energy efficient networks\, context awareness\, machine learning\, automated information gathering and more\, and all of which depend strongly on communication and localization. For all the above\, WPNC\, the annual European event which for over a decade provides an international platform for exchanging the latest in the areas of Positioning\, Navigation and Communication\, embraces Mobility 4.0 as its theme for the 2017.”
